Hidden Connections: Book 1
Well, if you're at my blog, then you've most likely have read my book! Hopefully you enjoyed it just as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Occasionally I'm asked questions about my book. The most frequent is:
How did you come up with this idea for a book?
Well, the answer is simple. When I was pregnant with my first born, I was put on to bed-rest because of preeclampsia. It wasn't necessarily an enjoyable time in my life, but I wouldn't say it was the worst either. Still, this gave me the needed down time to write. Not only did I have the time, I had to vent and release my inner thoughts and ideas.
One night I had a very vivid dream. I dreamed of two sisters who had a connection so deep, it was unbreakable. But, the eldest sister held a deep, dark secret. One she desprately wished she could share--but knew she couldn't without endangering her entire family. But she wasn't the only one with a dark secret: her boyfriend knew the truth as well.
It doesn't sound like much of a dream, probably because it only lasted about five minutes before I woke up, but the emotions it evoked me couldn't be easily forgotten. When I awoke, I knew I had to begin writing. What I felt and what I dreamed about was so real to me my fingers began to type away at the pages and the endless hours I spent at home on bed-rest seemed to fly away. The story flew from my minds eye through my fingers and onto the computer screen. The story somehow evolved itself into something more spectacular than I ever knew I could create. The feeling was liberating and exhilarating. I fell in love with each and every character and it was as if what I was writing was real to me.
I was nearly completed with the book when my little baby girl arrived. Of course motherhood took my full time and attention for a while, but then things began to slow down and I had to finish my book. Not soon after I returned to writing, I finished my book: Hidden Connections.
My dear sister-in-law, whose more like a sister than an in-law, read the first rough draft of the book. I cannot even tell you how many times she read my book from cover to cover offering advice, editing, and questioning every move the characters made. Her insight brought the book to where it is today. And of course I cannot forget to mention Nola, my editor, who spent countless hours adding in missed commas and correcting typos for me. Without the two of you, this book wouldn't be what it is today.
The next question I receive is:
Is there more to come?
But of course! I couldn't end the book as it was. The story always continues! I'm the type of person who gets depressed after a book is finished. Why you ask? Because the story always goes on. Now, I'm not suggesting this book will evolve into twenty books or anything, because we all have an ending to our stories, but one book for me just doesn't cut it. Andi Michaels has much more to learn and prove--not only to herself, but the world as well.
And lastly:
When will the next book come out?
Good question. Written: yes; edited: no. Currently I'm in the process of editing the book. Once this is completed, I'll be sure to let all my fans know!
I do believe in an open door policy. If you have any questions your dying to ask me, ask away. You can reach me at: NatalieResch@outlook.com. I'll be sure to update my blog with questions I receive from you guys.
